"Prednisolone is a synthetic corticosteroid which is often simply called steroid, but it should be noted that it is very different from another group of steroids, called anabolic steroids, which have gained notoriety because of their abuse by some athletes and body builders. Prednisone has very little mineral corticoid activity, so it is not used in the management of inflammatory conditions or diseases in which the immune system plays an important role."
